Before college, writing was only associated with academic purposes in my mind. I had never truly taken the time to stop and think about how writing has an impact on who I am today. However, the writing courses that I have taken in college thus far have opened my eyes to an endless list of what writing is capable of. When asked the question "why do you write?" in my Minor in Writing gateway course, I was forced to reflect on the role that writing has played in my life.
